Owner-led, fixed-bid
Vista sits inland in North County, and its kitchens tell two stories. Plenty of homes here are 70s and 80s tracts with closed-off, compartmentalized kitchens that wall the cook off from everyone else. Then you’ve got the newer Shadowridge builds and larger-lot family homes that want updating, not gutting. We’ve worked both since 2014. Vista’s mild microclimate is easy on a remodel, and the bigger lots out here often leave room to push out or bump a wall. Whatever your home’s age, we give you a straight bid and clean, licensed work.
What a Vista Kitchen Remodel Includes
Every kitchen is different, but most Vista projects we run cover the same core scope. We handle it all under one license, so you’re not chasing five different trades.
- Custom or semi-custom cabinets sized to your actual space, not a showroom box
- Countertops: quartz, granite, butcher block, or solid surface
- Flooring that holds up to a busy family kitchen
- Plumbing and electrical brought up to current code, including added outlets and lighting
- Tile, backsplash, and paint to tie it together
- Appliance fit and install for the layout you actually want
What Makes Vista Kitchens Different
Vista’s housing stock is a real mix, and that changes how we approach a remodel. The biggest single request we get out here is opening up older tract layouts. A lot of those 70s and 80s homes were built with a small, boxed-in kitchen separated from the dining and living areas by a load-bearing wall. Knock the right wall down (properly, with a beam and an engineer’s sign-off) and the whole house feels twice the size.
The newer side of town plays differently:
- Shadowridge homes often sit inside an HOA, so we account for any approval or exterior rules before we start
- Larger lots in Vista frequently leave room to bump out a wall or add square footage
- Mixed home ages mean we check the existing wiring, plumbing, and framing carefully, a 1978 kitchen hides surprises a 2005 one doesn’t
What a Kitchen Remodel Costs in Vista
Honest numbers up front, so you can plan. These are real Vista ranges, not lowball teasers:
- Refresh, $28k to $42k: new cabinets or refacing, countertops, flooring, fixtures, and paint with the layout staying put
- Full remodel, $42k to $70k: moving walls, opening up the layout, new plumbing and electrical, custom cabinets, and quality finishes
- High-end, $70k and up: bumping out walls, premium materials, custom islands, and high-end appliances
Where you land depends on your home’s age, how much you’re moving, and the materials you pick. We walk your kitchen and hand you a clear written bid, no vague allowances that balloon later.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a kitchen remodel cost in Vista?
Most Vista kitchens land between $28k and $70k. A refresh that keeps the existing layout runs roughly $28k to $42k, a full remodel with wall changes and new systems runs $42k to $70k, and high-end builds with bump-outs and premium finishes start around $70k. We give you a firm written bid after seeing your space.
How long does a kitchen remodel take?
A straightforward refresh usually runs 4 to 6 weeks. A full remodel with wall changes, new plumbing, and electrical typically takes 8 to 12 weeks. Older Vista tract homes can add time if we uncover outdated wiring or framing once we open things up.
Can you open up the wall between my kitchen and living room?
Usually, yes, that’s one of the most common jobs we do in Vista’s older tract homes. If it’s a load-bearing wall, we bring in a structural engineer, install the proper beam, and pull the right permits with the City of Vista. You get the open layout safely and to code.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We’re a licensed California contractor, CA Lic #1004363, fully insured, and have served San Diego County since 2014. Vista work gets permitted through the City of Vista and inspected, so it’s done right and on record.
